This was the first pattern used in the amigurumi class, it shows how using the same basic technique can make a variety of shapes.
Elephant is approximately 19 cm / 7.5 inches tall when sat.
(Also I put the legs and arms on in the wrong place, but had sewed them on to well to remove and set right) 😀

Assembly
- Sew head to body.
- Add trunk to head
- Ears are placed at the side between rounds 8 & 13.
- Arms are sewn on sides of the body. Using trunk as the center point, leave 5 stitches between each arm (looking from front side).
- Legs are added between rows 7 and 8. Leave 3 stitches between legs.
- Sew the tail between row 7 and 8 centered at the back side of the body.
- Eyes are one row above the trunk, leaving 6 stitches between each eye.
- Tusks: Using white yarn or embroidery thread, sew the tusks on the sides of the bottom of the trunk. Go through one stitch several times to create ball kind shape to indicate small growing tusks here.
- Mouth is 2 rows below the trunk. Using black yarn or embroidery thread stitch through three vertical stitches.
- Make two or three hairs on top of head by looping thread.
Time taken: Two evenings including sewing together.
