    WYS Florist Collection

The “worst” bit of doing classes at The Wool Haven is seeing all the new yarn coming into the shop. The levels of self-control I have to muster to control my purchases is incredible. One range that appeared around Christmas was the West Yorkshire Spinners Florist Collection. I was doing well at resisting temptation until I was shown The Perfect Bouquet pattern book that went with it.

    Crocheted Snowflake 1

I actually made a pile of these a few years ago to use up some 4ply to make bunting but no matter how I strung them I wasn’t happy. So this year I plan to use them to decorate my Christmas Cards. The larger of the two in the image was worked in DK and measures 13 cm (5 inches) in diameter, the smaller is in 4 ply and is 8 cm (3 inches) across.

    Amigurumi Sloth

I don’t know about other crafters but I find I don’t often have to go looking for projects, I’m lucky enough to have friends who show me ones they think I might find interesting or quirky.

    Flowers

I was asked to bring in some decorative flower patterns for the crochet class, so I chose these 3 to show how easy it is to crochet varying types.

    Baby hat

We were doing granny squares in the Wool Haven class today. I had explained how starting with a magic circle not only was great for ensuring all squares look even but was essential when making hats.
