This bauble pattern can be adapted in a number of ways, plain, sparkly, striped and with a variety of adornments. I’ve worked this in a DK acrylic (as that’s what I had to hand) but it could be made with most yarns, each giving a different effect.
Basic bauble pattern
- 6 dc in a magic ring (6)
- 2 dc in each stitch (12)
- *2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc* repeat to end (18)
- *2 dc in next stitch, dc 2* repeat to end (24)
- *2 dc in next stitch, dc 3* repeat to end (30)
- *2 dc in next stitch, dc 4* repeat to end (36)
- dc in each stitch (36)
- dc in each stitch (36)

- *dc2tog, dc 4* repeat to end (30)
- *dc2tog, dc 3* repeat to end (24)

- *dc2tog* repeat to end (6)
- thread yarn through & fasten tight. Chain 30 and then join at base to make loop.
