Where is the time running away to? It’s been a busy month in the Ceefer Crafts home, daughter’s birthday and a short trip to family ate up the first third of the month.

Paper flowers 2019
This is the third time I’ve brought paper flowers into the residential craft classes, the first time we used crepe paper and the second we made tropical flowers.

Despite this being a double month, there’s been very little crafting going on. Life got in the way with summer holidays and a house move.

WYS Florist Collection
The “worst” bit of doing classes at The Wool Haven is seeing all the new yarn coming into the shop. The levels of self-control I have to muster to control my purchases is incredible. One range that appeared around Christmas was the West Yorkshire Spinners Florist Collection. I was doing well at resisting temptation until I was shown The Perfect Bouquet pattern book that went with it.

Fantasy Film (Resin dipping)

Tropical paper flowers
July’s residential classes were programmed for Tropical paper flowers. I have to admit I was a bit nervous about doing paper flowers as it had a mixed reception last year. However that had only been my second set of classes at the residential homes and the residents were still a bit reticent. I found the technique on the Crafts by Amanda site and thought how effective it looked. I didn’t use her templates but instead hand drew something similar. Paper flowers
I’ve recently started work at a set of local care homes doing arts & crafts sessions for the residents (more crafts than art to be honest) Last month we started with felt, making a series of different brooches either bows or flowers. It was the first time many of them had used felt,so this month I decided to try them with paper flowers.
