    Button Art

I thought we’d try something different this month in the Residential Classes. Button art pictures are popular and it seemed a way for the residents to produce something they might see while shopping.

    Leaf printing

When I set up the class schedule in January I wasn’t sure what Autumn Crafts was going to be.  It had to be something that could be enjoyable for people with a range of abilities and if possible have a practical / useful end product as many of the residents prefer that. So I had a think about what Autumn meant to me (apart from Halloween and comfort food) The answer is leaves. I love leaves. The colours, the shapes. Felt drawer sachets

This month’s residential home classes was originally titled Sewing Felt Animals. As usual I had a pre-class preparation session, during which I  sewed a simple teddy bear and my friend made a cow. (I look at her designs and think she’s the one who should be running these classes)

    Fans

I was a bit worried chosing fan-making when I was setting up the residential home class schedule in January. The weather in June could be anything from torrential rain to a heat wave in Scotland. Even with the weather being nice in May did not assure my nerves as I’ve seen sunshine and hail in the same day in Glasgow.

    Decoupage – Trinket Boxes

I’ve been looking forward to doing this month’s residential home craft classes ever since I set up the time-table in January. I enjoy all my classes but decoupage is a particular favourite and my usual problem is trying to find an excuse to do it.

    Jewellery making class

Last year I took glass beads into the residential homes and for some reason didn’t blog it, so I’ve put the pictures from those classes at the bottom of this post.

    Air drying clay classes

Earlier this year I did a blog about me trying out some air drying clay for the Arts and Crafts Sessions at the residential homes I do each month.
