February/March 2020

I did start my February post at the normal time but then March got complicated and I lost the will to blog. I don’t want to get out of the habit so I am fighting the procrastination and getting something down

February was wet and windy and I was champing at the bit to get into the garden (which has it’s own post). March was, well, we all know how March was. I’m at home most of the time anyway and but being told not to go out makes something I’m normally happy with an uncomfortable fit.

On the plus side being stuck at home has meant I’ve been able to try out new bread recipes and I’m going to post them up too.

So less whinging on my part and more talking about what I’ve been up to, starting with the classes. We got a set of beginners’ crochet class in at the Wool Haven finished just before everything closed down.

The group was another lovely bunch of ladies who did much better than they thought they were. I find people always judge themselves too harshly when learning new things, especially those who have previous experience of other crafts. We think because we can do one thing everything else should be easy.

There was a set of Residential Care Home Classes in February, obviously these were the first thing to be cancelled. I miss the residents and think about them often.

Time for a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to…

I’d forgotten about these made them at the end of January beginning February with King Cole Riot Chunky in Denim.

Then I had a couple of commissions to make a certain baby alien

I actually finished a Flower blanket, this is how I thought it would look last year and to be honest I could have finished it ages ago if I hadn’t changed my mind on what I wanted. I still want to do a different version, so it will be popping back up over the next few months

Then some squares for a group project, the patterns are somewhere in my Granny Square page, then used the “leftover” yarn to get me started on making more wrist warmers and hats (need to get them photographed properly and listed)

Just to finish off I’m going to add pictures of my baking (recipes to be added)

First was some tablet.

Then my usual loaf, pitta bread, a no-knead loaf and finally some muffins.

I also set off a sour-dough starter as I’m running low on yeast so we’ll see how I get on with that in April
