September 2019

Apart from my classes it’s been fairly quiet month on the crafting side. Been finishing off unpacking and most of remaining my free time has been spent in the garden.

On the days it’s been too wet to play outside I’ve been getting used to the kitchen. I’m back to using a fan oven so everything was over cooked to start with! Despite that it’s been so nice to have space to cook and bake, and visiting friends are getting used to being guinea pigs on my efforts.

I’m considering adding a baking section to the blog, it’s not going to be a regular thing just somewhere I stick recipes/links so I don’t lose them.

But back to the crafting. September weekend fell in the middle of a Beginners Crochet Class at the Wool Haven so we tweaked it this month to be 3 x 2 hour classes rather than 4 x 1.5 hours. It’s strange, we do the same number of hours yet it alway feels a more intense course. The ladies taking part were really on the ball and took to the revised program very well.

The residential care home classes also had a change this month, with the first class in a new home added to the timetable, up to 7 now, 3 in the Glasgow area, 2 in Edinburgh and 2 in East Kilbride. A small class at the new location but they took to it really well. This month we were making paper Autumn Wreaths and there were some very eye-catching pieces made.

A little bit of forward planning to finish off the month. I’ve committed to attending the 2 Christmas Fayres at Art Space G41 in Shawlands.

I really enjoyed doing last year’s; it pushed me out of my online comfort zone, speaking of which I have finally added more products to the shop.
