Caron Cake Triangular Scarf

I was very aware that I hadn’t got round to working with a cake yarn despite admiring many other people’s projects so I picked a ball up in February with one of my yarn orders for the pompom rug.

The pattern itself is quite simple, it’s like working half a Granny Square. I’ve broken up each row into sections to make it easier to read,

I used Caron Zucchini Loaf Cake, on a 5 mm hook.

  • magic loop – 2 ch, 2 tr, 2 ch, 2 tr
  • 1st row
    • 2 ch, 2 tr in 1st st,
    • 3 tr, 2 ch, 3 tr in 2 ch-sp,
    • 3 tr in last st.
  • 2nd row
    • 2 ch, 2 tr in 1st st,
    • 3 tr in sp between 3 tr clusters,
    • 2 ch, 3 tr in 2 ch-sp,
    • 3 tr in sp between 3 tr clusters,
    • 3 tr in last st.
  • 3rd row onwards
    • 2 ch, 2 tr in 1st st,
    • 3 tr in sp between 3 tr clusters, – repeat until 2 ch-sp
    • 2 ch, 3 tr in 2 ch-sp,
    • 3 tr in sp between 3 tr clusters, repeat to end
    • 3 tr in last st.

I did cheat slightly on the final row, adjusting the colours so I had a complete row of grey rather than 1/3 turquoise & 2/3 grey. The excess turquoise was used to make the tassels
