Earlier this year I did a blog about me trying out some air drying clay for the Arts and Crafts Sessions at the residential homes I do each month.
Well the final sessions were today and overall I think the clay did better than I expected/feared. I wasn’t sure how the residents would take to it. The clay is like a cross between silly putty and slime and I wasn’t sure if they would see it as childish.
Last week’s session were small groups and in general the project was received positively so naturally this week it didn’t go down as well. However there were enough in each group who wanted to try it out to make it a positive experience.
Some residents were happy just to manipulate the clay, it’s a very soothing feeling, whilst others made coasters, bowls and figures.
