I made these to go with the Cat Hat and Cowl.
As stated in that pattern I had planned to work in DK, but after making the hat I realised that I could do them the same as the hat working with 2 strands of yarn.
Dimensions: Diameter 7 inches / 18 cms, length 7 inches / 18 cm
Materials
- 50 gms either DK or chunky yarn
- 8mm hook
Abbreviations
- ch – chain
- slst – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htc – half treble crochet
Left handwarmer
- Cast on 18
- Row 1. Skip 1st ch, htc in back loop only to end
- Row 2 – 6. Ch 1, htc to end working in back loop only
- Row 7. Ch 1, 7 htc in back loop only, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, htc in back loop only to end – chain space forms thumb hole
- Row 9 – 11. Ch 1, htc in back loop only to end.
- Row 12. Fold work in half and join to cast on with dc.
- Then continue with dc around top of glove to form a border. Join with slst to complete ring. Fasten off.
Right handwarmer
- Cast on 18
- Row 1. Skip 1st ch, htc in back loop only to end
- Row 2 – 4. Ch 1, htc to end working in back loop only
- Row 5. Ch 1, 7 htc in back loop only, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, htc in back loop only to end – chain space forms thumb hole
- Row 6 – 11. Ch 1, htc in back loop only to end.
- Row 12. Fold work in half and join to cast on with dc.
- Then continue with dc around top of glove to form a border. Join with slst to complete ring. Fasten off.
Thumbs
- Row 1. Work 8 htc around thumbhole,
- Row 2. Ch 1, htc to end working in bac 7uy k loop only. Join with ss, fasten off.
- Sew in all ends
- Took me about 1 1/2 hours to make both.
